It's probably the car taking a second to downshift.

Its normal....get the 6spd if you want instant throttle response.

its an auto... when you floor it the transmission fluid has to shift around and select the appropriate gear and then it takes off.

you guys are speaking in pretty general terms... not all ATs or sedans by any means... I'm putting down good trq from down low across entire rpm (mean trq on CAT Dynojet is 245, peak is 261 @ 4600)... I have no problem pulling of most MT and coupes in general from the dig (even before recent mods)... with the right attention to tune and correct mods I don’t have the issues mentioned.

If we are referencing bone stock, I don’t remember; my car was stock for about 5 months and that was years ago.

well i definetly tried and liked the tip tronic. it helped alot when i was racing the brand new EVO MR but still lost! ha helped me get off the start right away. so anyone else having this problem just use tip tronic and keep it at higher rpms..

Whether you have auto or 6MT, there isn't going to be a whole lot of power below 3000rpms. These engines have good torque, but when you've got to motivate 3,400lbs and let the cams come online which occurs around 3000-3500rpms. Also, the throttle sensitivity is reduced slightly in the lower rpms so that non-performance drivers don't leap out into traffic. This throttle issue is easily solved with a ECU flash from TS or Uprev.

BTW, if you guys think the throttle-by-wire in the G is bad, try driving most any other late model car. I rent tons of cars for work and I find the Nissan has some of the best throttle programming on the market. Toyotas and Fords are pretty dismal and laggy.

Last time my throttle response decreased, it ended up being the piston rings in the engine.

You should see the throttle lag on some Volvos and Mercedes...

my X has very little to no "drive by wire" lag in auto or manual mode since adding a SBD 10 wire(4 guage) grounding kit. The stillen grounding kit is incomplete and has 8 guage wire... it also dosent ground the ECU, transmission, or AWD control unit.

The lag I have recorded begins at about 12 to 16 mph. The car left the line in 1st gear because I started by pre-loading the drive train against the brakes at about 1500rpm.

I've had a grounding kit on my G 5AT (GG 12 wire kit) and it didn't anything to improve throttle or shift response.

First off, street races don't prove squat because you don't know who's leaving first. Just a mere .3 second jump means a 14.2 car will lead a 14.0 second car in the 1/4 mile. You can't even really see a .5 second jump and that would give you a HUGE advantage.

As for racing from a stop. Are you braking stalling the torque converter? Launching off idle won't do squat. Additionallly, hitting the throttle from a slow roll like 5mph to 15mph doesn't work well either because you're well out of the power band therefore you'll get a bog. Nail the throttle from 15mph in a 6MT car and you'll get the same boggy effect as well. What you guys are feeling is not a throttle lag. Instead, you're simply out of the powerband.

+1000000, I recently installed Gordgee's 10wire kit, and I definitely noticed a much smoother and quicker shift. What used to be a burp on a gearshift is now just a hiccup lol. Next thing I might get done is a throttle body upgrade, on my way to Vortech city. Gota do a but moe research

Interesting setup, are those white LED's behind the grille?

Any issues with cops & the blue rings? I'd think those would scream "pull me over"...didn't think you can have blue lights on a car.

BTW - pretty ballsy of you to race an EVO...I wouldn't even bother wasting my time....did you drive away w/ your tail between your legs?
