Accelerates On Its Own?

When I floor it, it lags for a second and then it seems to accelerate on its own and you cant stop it. It's kind of scary actually, because even if I press the brakes it keeps on accelerating. Does this happen to anyone else?

after 4000 rpms our car gets a rush of torque.... then it gets a rush of hp after 6000 rpms.... what some people describe as lag is the time it takes to get into the power band...

so you hitting the breaks just as the torque kicks in? it is "drive by wire"... maybe you should reset your throttle position sensor.... search for instructions on this forum.

i found out on the 5AT that if you tap the gas, let off, then floor it, the gears are right and it goes. its all a pretty quick movement though. i get bored in traffic to easily, especially now that i got the cd player error.

try this out and let me know if it works for you

yep in the owner manual it says if you floor the accelerator quickly... it will drop to the next lowest gear and the you can release and accelerate as normal. you just basically treat the accelerator as a "button"... i still like manual mode better

The 10wire kit from Gordgee definitely took a chunk of that lag away for me, shifts are MUCH smoother. Folks are crazy on here saying there isn't a difference. My crazy sound system pumping a few thousand watts also benefited from the grounding.

yep when i first got the car i hated the lag... now its minimal lag and it the same amount every time... so the accelerator is predictable.... plus all the electronics in the G35 benefit... like the stock audio system gets more clear and VDC is less intrusive... as it kicks in and goes away quicker... i love my grounding kit... anyone with a "drive by wire" car should have a grounding kit

I had the GG kit and it didn't make a lick of difference. I sold it after two weeks.
