these headlights on ebay

Normally I wouldn't buy a lot of things on ebay...for quality reasons.

Wondering if anybody has bought these, and if so how they were

thanks

just say no to aftermarket headlights. Modded headlights are a different story

well, the problem is that my headlights are oxidized... once you get oxidation i dont think there is a way to completely eliminate it and keep it from coming back. Also, i think the chrome inside the light is also getting oxidized...

much different. will not fit on the 03/04 sedans unless you get new bumper, fenders, and hood and some other mods to make it fit.

Ebay headlights are crap. I have a set on my car for temps right now while my oem headlights are getting some custom work done. Ebay lights have awful fitment, fog like crazy, and are a PITA. OEM FTW! Search here or on ebay for OEM sedan headlights. They pop up around here and on ebay

"Oh I never buy generic products from ebay because of their obvious crap quality but hey, I need some cheap headlights and maybe these magically break the mold just because I need them."

Headlights typically "oxidize" on the outside, not the inside. Easiest and cheapest way to get rid of it is to rub toothpaste (use a descent brand like Colgate or Crest) over the entire headlight with your fingertips. Do each headlight for about 30 seconds (not too much pressure). The abrasives will polish the lens. Wipe off with moist micro-fiber or cotton cloth. Rinse any residue and dry afterward. Once dry, apply a good wax or sealant such as Collinate 845, Nu Finish or other long lasting wax. Your headlights should look completely new. Internal oxidation is another story-- I've never seen it on a G (always on my Volvos tho.

Good luck!

If you want the black color, it is not all that hard to open them up and paint the bezel or there are people on the boards who have done it in the past or are willing to do it.

I will be posting pics of my retro in progress in the next month as I begin work

IMO I would not buy those. Open yours up and paint them. As for the lens issues just clean and polish them.

If you really want to make them last, polish them with a clear plastic polish (like Meguiar's Plastic Lens Polish) and immediately put on a type of headlight film (like Lamin-X). They're fogging over because the UV coating on the plastic is starting to break down and exposed the raw plastic. That's why they yellow.

The Lamin-X has a UV barrier in the material, so it's like applying a new barrier. If the Lamin-x fails, just replace the film instead of the lens.

Don't get eBay lights

^ Good solution idea for a common problem in most of our cars. I'll have to shop around for different types of headlight film. Frankly I'm getting tired of applying Plast-X to the headlights every 2 weeks.

Back from the dead guys...

I bought a set of ebay lights for my car ( which does not have HID ) and they are GREAT. Fit is absolutely perfect and the lighting is great. I don't know that the problem is that people don't like them ( except that they don't come for HID setups, you'd have to use universal kits if you want hid ). They don't fog either. They did at first because I installed them when it was raining outside but not they don't fog up anymore and it's rained a million times.
