You may also be within the 4yr proration period for the battery... Depending on the age of the car, you might have 25% coverage on your battery from the factory.

Auto batteries are commonly only designed to last 4-5 years, so I really don't think you have anything to complain about. There are thousands of parts Nissan could've used that last longer but that stuff adds to the price tag... it's a compromise. Imagine if Nissan made a G35 that only needed gas and tires for the first 200,000 miles, you might seriously consider buying that right? Maybe not if it cost $80 grand.

I always see batteries last about 3-4 years... Might be weather or the fact that modern cars have way more electrical crap in them , but I rarely see a battery last 6yrs +, especially on the newer cars.

Iam planning on changing my OEM battery after owning my car for 4 years. Might go with Interstate since thats what Nissan is using for a replacement.

If any of you are looking for long lasting batteries, don't get the Walmart Duralast brand. The first one I bought for my 2nd car (the Corolla), it lasted only 2-1/2 years (and I don't even have any A/V or electronics upgrades). Good thing it comes with the 3 year free replacement warranty, I got the Walmart battery replaced for free.

Just installed a Kirkland (Costco) replacement

OEM battery is not maintenance free. Battery from Costco is exactly the same size, costs CAD$85, and has 640 CCA (cold cranking amps) compared to the OEM battery which had only 445 CCA.

BTW, I found water in one of the recesses for the mounting bolts! Apparently Nissan / Infiniti forgot to drill a drain hole to let the water out.

34R is even better, even more CA/CCA and almost the exact same size.
