Interior Lighting

So I just bought a 2003 Sedan and was looking into replacing the interior lighting with colored LEDs. I have never worked on a car before (literally never, I'm 16...). I was wondering how I would go about getting to the courtesy light bulbs (in the bottom of the doors) and was wondering what kind of lights these were so I could look for LEDs that would fit. I'd also love to know if anyone has tried this (and how you did it)...
Thx!

Congrats on the car...

First, start off here at the replacement guide on the sylvania website...

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

Then, go to super bright leds here...

http://superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/s...i?product=LEDS

Type in the bulb type you want, choose color...

I need to do the same thing actually. I will have my LED's this week and haven't looked at how to change the ones in the doors just yet.

155, i wouldn't worry about being 16 and not working on cars. When i was 16, i asked some pretty silly questions...and by the time I was 20, i was yanking engines and rebuilding transmissions in my dorm room

one thing to remember is: DO NOT TOUCH THE FESTOON BULB!!!! if that bulb's been on over a second it'll be burning hot to the touch. i learned that the hard way so make sure you have something to grab it with. oh and also

+1

It's an easy job. Just be careful with the map light covers as the tabs can break off.

Lol good point. I was just kinda hoping someone would steer me the right way to save me time or help me avoid breaking something.

I saw two tiny phillips screws. i assume i just remove those and the lens cover comes off.

you are on the right path, just remove those 2 tiny phillip screws and the cover is easily accesible.

Remember to change the trunk light, its a Peanut bulb.
