Air fuel induction flush

I understand the purpose, but has anyone done this/had it done at 30 & 60K miles or at any time? Was it effective? Would you recommend it?

Nissan/Infiniti are recommending it at the major service intervals (30, 60, 90K, etc.).

Is this the fuel system flush?

If so, no just run a can of BG K44 cleaner every ~10-15k miles. It's about $20-25 a can but well worth it. Many shops use it for their system flush that they charge $89+ for.

BGK 44 is thru the fuel system- I typically use Sea Foam for this. Infiniti/Nissan is now recommending it through the intake manifold just ahead of the throttle body, I believe.

Just take off the upper plenum and see if it's needed or not.

BG air induction has 3 cars of stuff. 2 cans pretty much has a nozzle that goes right into the throttlebody, suppose to clean up carbon, its pressuere fed and the last cak is 44k that goes into gas tank. the 2 dealerships i worked at charged 129$ for it.

method is very similiar to seafoam but this done at about 2.5k RPM and pressure feed at a slow rate. normally takes 5-8mins to do. gives the tech some time to clean stuff up.

which stuff?

the BG has its own induction kit, pressure bottle made by them and etc. i've done it on aleast 150+ car in the 2 years i worked at a dealership and seen aleast 500 done by other techs. stinks up the whole shop but never any damage done because everything is controlled.

i've seen seafoam mess up because people were letting too much get sucked in thru the booster. seen 2 cars get HYDROLOCKED because instead of clamping the hose to control the amount getting sucked in... they let go full blast.

Yeah, but does it REALLY clean anything? I have NEVER had to "flush" a fuel injection system. One of my cars had over 300,000 miles on it. But, I always bought quality gasoline and changed my oil every 3K.

Yes it does! It works wonders. I have done this service on both of my cars. It's amazing how much carbon the BG induction cleaner gets off. I do it every 20k miles.

How can you tell how well it cleans? You remove the upper manifold off and examine?

The first time I used it I did it in my SHO. It had 114k and I pulled off the plenum. I sprayed the BG into the plenum and it dissolved the caked on carbon almost instantly. I replaced the plenum, ran it through the brake booster and removed the plenum again. Looked brand new. I knew I should have taken pics, but the air flow was greatly improved and I could feel it.

Never removed the plenum on the G but I had already seen first hand how well it works.

I removed mine a few times. At 40k, except for a little bit of oil blow by, it was clean. ie... I could see no crude as in the aluminum finish was easily seen

Any DIY's on this? Is anyone willing to post a DIY on how to do this. I know it's effective and while I know cars well, the G is still new to me.
