18 350z track wheels, what tires to use?

Tires
I just found a link that has tire heights and its says the factory tires 215/55/17 are 26.31mm I guess tall. A 235/45/18 tire will be 26.33 tall, being on an 18 wheel does that imply that the actual height of the 18 setup will be 18inches + 26.33 tall as opposed to 26.31 + 17 inches tall on factory. I really want a slightly larger setup so my wheels and tires fill my wheel wells alittle better.

G-Sedan are your wheels painted or powdercoated different than factory?
Thanks

My wheels are powdercoated in the center and polished on the lips. I had it re-done after running stock finish for a while.

I usually keep the lip polished with mothers aluminum polish and a coat of wheel wax to protect it. It's not really wet to california so the chances of rust is next to none. The powdercoat I got is quality work it's still shiny and sick like the day I got the wheels back.
A quality paint job is a quality paint job; with proper normal mainteanance, it souldn't wear, fade, or crack at all.

^ No will not affect it and you most likely wont feel it. I'm running 245/45/18 all around now.
As far as brand and model...look for your prefrence (grip, tirewear, quiet,) etc, and do your research on tirerack.com
as far as 245/40, its going to be lower profile so you better have a drop to accomodate the gap. lower profile also = harsher ride and more prone to pothole damage. UP to your preference once again.

would that .5 width make a diffrence when you rotate the wheels?
i'm thinking of getting track wheels for my X and i wanted to rotate the tires... would having in the front mess up traction/ grip in any way. I know it makes more sense to run teh 8.5 in the rears but what if its the same tire size .
