Anyone modified their fog lights to turn on with just the parking lights. If so, how was it done.
Thanks

In canada we must have daytime running lights so our fogs are on as soon as the car is turned on. So, you could get a daytime running light kit if that's what you're looking for.

Isn't the DRL kit running those lights at a reduced power level? Also, doesn't it actually fire the high beam filament and not the fog light?

I'll check it out on my car today but I'm pretty sure it's just the regular low beam fog filament. DRL kit must be common as every Canadian G35 has it installed, so shouldn't be too hard to find.

DRL is a lower wattage on the high beam filament.

I don't want to run the fog lights all the time, just when I turn on the parking lights. If no one has done this, I will try to figure it out then post how it was done.

KP has a module that does this. i'm thinking it would make the fogs turn with parking lights but there might be a chance of the fogs turning one completely on its own without the parking lights..

there is a guy here selling his brand new for $40 or something in the for sale. if the mod was free or close to be being free i would of done it but not at $40.

The KP module does not work on our sedans yet. (as of 12/08)
I am going to be testing a beta module for him soon.

this is the next mod i want to do on my newly acquired G35...

on my 240sx, i wired the foglight relay to be activated using the signal source of the sidemarker (parking lights). I can still use the factory switch to turn them on and off.

however, i have no clue where the foglight relay is on the G35, since I've only had it a couple of days. I'll post it up when I get around to it. I'll probably use an ignition wire source though - so its more DRL-like in use.

edit: unless all the lighting is controlled by some computer, then I have no clue. this was the case with my evo. hmmm.

What does it take for the fog lights to be on with just the parking lights on an 03 coupe? Is it the same as a sedan?

I did the mod on my accord and it was just simple splicing a wire or two.

Thanks for the help
