yours looks like the V5 cast version so its definietely one of the newest ones.

mine still looked like it was a modified oem, but it's not the frakenstein type but it looks very clean and smooth...it also came powdercoated black, so I might have the regular V5 or even the V4..I dont know I'm confused.

Well hard to tell as you have the cover. But it does look like yours uses the stock back half and the new front half. They might have improved on this before they went to the all cast version. But you can probably tell by looking at the underside (ie.. look for the weld line) Also looks like they eliminated 4 of the stock holes.

Not like it really matters. They all probably dyno the same. I actually a a V1 or V2 before also. But I got a V5 cheap so I sold the older version.

It's been great. I could really tell the difference with this thing.

I have an early 03 w/ the clutch fan:

Big belt: Nissan # 11720-4P102. I used a Bando 6PK1180

Other small belt had no number. But I used a Napa 040365
Thought I'd resurrect this thread with a part no. update. Yesterday I was cleaning my MAF and noticed lots of rubberized string thrown all around my engine compartment. I looked down and saw that my compressor belt was starting to narrow itself. It only had 60% of it's width left. I guess 8 years of service and 90K miles is all the OEM belt could handle Since the Infiniti dealer was closed, I decided to go to NAPA to get my belts for my early 03 sedan. My sedan was built in 9/02 which means it was one of the last one's off line before the 03.5 models.

Bando 6PK1180 worked fine for the power steering pump and alternator belt.

NAPA 250-040365 (37 1/8" long) did not work for the AC compressor. It was too short. I returned it and got NAPA 250-040372 (37 7/8" long) which fit fine.

So there ya go. It appears that Nissan went to a larger diameter pulley on the AC compressor or tensioner sometime late in the early 03 sedan model year. G35papa must have a later 03 like mine.

Thought I would add to the part no. list as well since I apparently have an early early '03 (build date 03/02) that needs a shorter compressor belt. I put a brand new Nissan 11920-AG900 on exactly 1 year ago and it just shredded on me. I should have known that it was too long back when I put it on because when I ran out of adjustment on the tensioner pulley, the belt was *almost* tight enough for my liking but really needed a few more turns. So it was apparently slipping slightly (albeit quietly) for awhile before it started shredding.

Went to AutoZone today and they have two Dayco belts listed:

Dayco 5040365 - 36 1/2" long
Dayco 5040373 - 37 1/2" long

The Nissan 11920-AG900 was pretty much exactly the same size as the longer Dayco, so I went with the shorter Dayco and it works perfect. I was able to get it good and tight.

This is an easy one.

If you have a doggy door (03.0)
Ask the parts guy to look up the belt for a "2003 G35" and he'll get two different ones. Then have him look up a 2004, and he'll only get one, the same as one of the two he got earlier... you want the other one.
Process of elimination FTW

I don't think it's that simple. DaveB and G35papa both have doggy doors (03.0) and both needed the longer belt versus my doggy door needing the shorter belt. So the belt changeover occurred sometime in the middle of the 03.0 run (sometime between 03/02 and 09/02). Unfortunately, I think it's a little bit of trial and error if you have a doggy door.

^Oh ok. Guess I should check to see when they changed the compressor.

Also, if you had the TSB or recall or whatever it was on the A/C, obviously you'd need the newer one.
