It is all preference. Frankly, I hate the rotary style dials.

I don't like the rotary dials either. Fairly obnoxious looking, and.. well.. boring.

Seems a bit over-simplified, from the pics. I really like the positive accuation of the Volvo controls (on an S60R I recently testdrove) but the design was very caveman and military looking. The proof would be in the using, to me. If I can tell with a quick glance, or with periferal vision, what the controls are doing, that's what I like. If I have to pay attention so I don't bake/freeze my feet, I don't like it.

Me failed English? That's unpossible!

Are you kidding?! I already hate how the 2005's rotary temp. control looks like the Altima!

The push buttons are more elegant.
Have you seen a recent BMW with Rotary HVAC's?!

The interior of both Altima and Maxima look boring and well, frankly, how they are supposed to look: Family Sedan and Luxury Sedan!

G35 is a Luxury Sports car and so should have elegant style inside.

I am not sure equate BMW with 'elegance'. BMW and Mercedes have been knocked for the unfriendly design of the iDrive and Comand interfaces. Somethings have been one way for a reason - because they work - example being rotary tuning and volume on sounds systems. In case of G, I am sure they can figure out some elegant rotaries but why a rotary inherently not 'elegant'? I would take functional over elegant !!!

If you think BMWs are push buttons think again.
GO take a look at the Z4

Z4 is the only BMW that way.

I personally like both BMW and Mercedes's interior! Then again it's a matter of personal taste I suppose.

I still think the 03/04 interiors looked much more legant.

Well if you think about it again, why would designers design something if its not good? Is it because they are stupid?

NO. It is because a rotary **** is simply easier to use during driving then a button. It would be easier to grab hold of a **** then a button or else the doors in your house would be BUTTONs not *****. Besides, there are enough buttons already, we all want a simplified dash instead of one crowded with buttons that u can use during driving.

Those look the ones in the QX56. Can't decide if I like them. I peeked in one the other day.

I dont mind the ones we have. The only button I use is the temp up and down. It does the rest by it self..

Neither, I like the 2003 controls. The cheapness of the Altima interior is a major reason I didn't buy one even though I could have gotten a really good deal on one. I don't like the way the whole center console just JUTS out into the passenger area and then just DROPS off with that cut-away underneath! YuKK! Rotary looks 1970/80's. I much prefer the '03 G35's flat buttons - they have a more seamless hi-tech look, and I can operate them just fine after a short adjustment period.
