Hi all,
I realized there is a locking pin for my set of craftsman jackstand. From the manual, it said it's used so you don't over extend the notches on the jackstand. Since I will never raise the car that high, I didn't bother to put the pin in. Is that normal or I am risking something? Or did I nearly kill myself for not putting the pin in?
I have the below Craftsman jackstands.

Thanks...

If you don't raise the height of the jackstand at all, you don't have to lock anything.
