yes. The M, G coupe, and G sedan all share the same intelligent key

FCC ID: KBRTN001

but YOU can't program it, the dealer can. and they charge you up the @ss

I have google and I've been looking through this forum for about an hour, but I haven't found the answer to a similar question.

I've been looking on ebay and I have found several new Fobs with new uncut keys, but the listings state that they are for 2007 and newer G's. My car is a 2006. I have a feeling the listings do not include 2006, because the smart key was optional then (so I hear). So, my question is, will a smart key for a 2007 G35 work on a 2006 G35?

You cannot program it unless you have a Nissan consult 2... but you cant do it for sure..
What you may be able to do is take it to the dealer after buying it, and since you should be under warranty, just tell them it just stopped working. They will probably reprogram it for free and charge you for a new battery and tell you that is what it was..

They do get unprogrammed once in awhile and they know this...I know the above solution will probably work for you, because that was my experience when I finally recieved the rest of the keys 2 months after I bought my 05 used...
