I thought active headrests were 07+ sedan only?

Mine has it.

Little tags hang from the headrests labeled "Active Headrests". The system is described on pg 1-10 of the owner's manual.

Maybe that's what it was... the tilting headrests interferes with the active headrest system... or something...
I would agree that this is why the headrests shouldn't be modified.

Try tilting your seatback more upright...... this helped me on long drives alot

Hahah i suppose so.. but honestly the G35x is a perfect fit for me when the seat is all the way back.. im seated very snug and dont get uncomfortable at all.. I drove around a couple of friends through NYC for over 3 hours not getting out of the car and felt fine.. i also drove down to Florida in my girlfriends 06 g35x and couldnt complain.. So i would like to thank infiniti for remember the big and tall population.. im sure others would agree..

From: LB NY, Currently Socorro, NM. HELP ME!!!
even though im not that tall (5'10") i drive with my seat pretty far back and very reclined. during normal driving i dont use the headrest, but for long drives i lean back, rearrange the mirror, and can just reach the steering wheel. idk if this means anything, but on the driver seat in mine (05x) the headrest is stiff. however, the passenger seat is from an 07, and the headrest is actually like spring loaded, where you can pull the top of it forward and it will move a few inches, then spring back. i never looked for an active headrest tag on one vs. the other, but maybe that play could be the active track. i also know that theres a wire comming out from the seat underneath thats not plugged in anywhere, maybe thats for the headrest feature that doesnt exist in the car?

Mine don't have that tag on them at all.

I'll have to look in the manual later to see if they are mentioned like you mentioned
