head rests

i don't know why it took me so long but has anyone with a 04 realize that their head doen't touch the headrest and still be in a comfortable position? I had this same problem with my 04 Nissan Titan, so did many others. I ended up getting a pair from a 05 Titan for a small hook up fee from my service adviser.

The 04 G35 headrest is so flat you have to lean your head waaay back for it to touch, I can't remember having to do that with the 08 loaner I recently had. Is it just me? i doubt it

I don't believe I've ever owned a car that didn't require me to lean back for my head to touch the headrest.

Headrest construction has become a national crisis here in Texas. Most sit so close to the back of your head that you can't wear your Cowboy Hat while driving! What are we to do?

I can't remember the last time I even saw a cowboy hat.

Oh wait, the older Mexican dudes wear them a lot.

If I remember correctly, the reason they didn't have the tilting headrests in the G is because of the possible neck or head injury in an accident, depending on how the headrest is angled.

Maybe I'm retarded, in fact there's a good chance of that, but I thought headrests were primarily for preventing head and neck injury.

In some cars, the headrest will move to help, but as for the G, it doesn't. So if you think about it... if you tilt the G's hard headrest forward to where it's pointing at the back of your head, imagine a car running into yours, and your head or neck whiplashing back onto the top of that hard headrest... Now if the headrest doesn't tilt (like the way it comes from the dealers) you will be perfectly fine, as the headrest does it's job without causing additional injury.

I'm 6' 2" 180 and I have no issues with the headrest. My wife is 5' 8" 125 and she doesn't have any problems either. I've found the placement of the headrest perfect for both comfort and safety.

I dont think i ever drive with my head against the headrest haha.. im 6'6 and 220lbs so my seat is reclined to the point where if i leaned my head back and turned to the left i would see out the rear window.. I feel as if im very comfortable w/o even using the headrest.. sometimes i lean back and rest my head on it.. but 99% of the time im not touching it..maybe thats why they call it a headrest..kinda like an armrest.. you never use it 100% of the time

Mine is too far back. I hate it. I wish it was slightly forward so i could rest my head on it on long highway drives.

I like the rear headrests, but i actually removed them for rear visibility reasons. Nobody ever rides in the rear seat of my car anyway. I bought a 4-door car and don't even need it

Our cars have what's called an Active Headrest System (AHS) if I recall correctly. I understand this to mean that upon rear impact the headrest will actuallly move to meet your head before your head has a chance to whip backward violently. I don't think they are intended to be up against your head at all times.

Maybe that's what it was... the tilting headrests interferes with the active headrest system... or something...
