Flashing Airbag light - reset doesn't keep - is this serious?

My airbag light started flashing for unknown reasons last week (2005 G Sedan, 48,000 miles). I did a little research and discovered the "reset" procedure to stop the flashing. Well, it DID work for a couple days and then the flashing started again. I have reset 3 times and it tends to last for 2 days and then it starts back.

I called my service tech today and have scheduled an appointment for this week. He seems to think it is something more serious but he didn't go into that.

Has anyone else had to take theirs in for this issue?

its only serious if you want your airbags to deploy if you crash. as they wont with an airbag error light.

I had to have my left side airbag module replaced before. The restraint system has like a 70k / 7yr warranty on it (pretty sure but double check me) so you should be covered.

I had mine do the same thing. There is a sensor connected to a spiral cable behind the steering wheel horn part - either the sensor or cable is damaged. Have the tech look at that instead of continously resetting the light.

The flashing airbag light mystery was solved.
Tech ran diagnostic and found code B1134 which was the Open Side Module Left side. So, they replaced the driver side seat airbag module.

That's it. Still under warranty = no charge!

^Sweet...same issue I had. If you would of had to pay, it would of cost like $800!
