RX8 wheels on my G

My brother in law might be picking up a new set of wheels for his 2007 RX8 and offered his rims to me. My rear 17" OEMs got some wear from snow cables.
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...ns-cables.html
He has 18" OEMS that share the same bolt pattern but have a 50mm offset. Will I have any issues with rubbing from the inside/outside fenders or even the brake calipers?

Has anyone tried this setup because I had no luck using the search tool? Will I be the first?

Threadcrapping will be tolerated, but keep it down. The wheels don't look special but worth a try.

I'm also curious.

Does anyone have the specs on any of the OEM sedan wheels? What is the factory offset and backspacing of either the 17x7 wheels or 18x7.5" wheels?

I have a set of 18x9's I am putting on my project Mustang. The bolt pattern is the same as my G35. I'm curious to see if they would fit and look decent on the G35.

These are the wheels
http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...2037_240138482

They come in two offsets/BS. I have both offsets since i have a staggered offset setup due to aftermarket brakes on my Mustang.

5.9" BS +24mm offset
6.6" BS +40mm offset

EDIT: I just want to put them on ONLY for curiousity. Please spare me any negative comments towards the idea.

OP, if the wheels are 5x114.3 they will fit, but you will need atleast 15mm spacer since the offset is way too weak. Edit make sure they are the right hub size

Mustang: Yeah those should fit if the tire size is right. Also the 17x7 has a +45 offset and the 18x7.5 has a +45 offset.

Well right now they have 275's and 285's on them. I doubt it would fit the G with those sizes. Still, curious to see how the rims look. Come spring, maybe i'll put two on one side and take a photo.

I can tell you they are not the same hub size. I believe the RX8 wheels have a larger hub. You could always get hub rings.

why not try to find some 350z wheels that look really similar to that? I am pretty sure they would fit but not 100%
Anyone know?

Unless these wheels are next to free, I'd just go with Z wheels. 18" versions are pretty cheap.

The RX8 wheels might be fairly light though. Mazda usually pays close attention to weight on the wheels.

The RX8 are free from my brother-in-law so I thought they would be worth a try. He's been living off my family for the last 4 years and that's the least he could do. I'd laugh in his face if he asked for money.

If it's going to take too much time or money, I'll just tell him to sell them. I've been eying the G35 coupe and 350Z wheels but those will have to wait until I change my suspension.

Any help knowing where to look for hub rings?

I wouldn't put them on if the hub doesn't contact the ring. That would mean all the force of the wheel when driving is purely on the lugs than the hub.

You would need to get spacers made up for the difference...which is a 1mm spacer according to info provided in this thread.

If you have access to machining tools, you could make a set.

well i was refering to the, just putting them on and finding out if they fit or not. Because its not like its going to hurt to try to bolt it up. It wont cost him anything since its already there. People normally ask questions like this because they dont have the stuff in hand, or before they BUY it. If i had a wheel in the garage and i was wondering if it MIGHT fit, i would just put it on already instead of asking.

if he would of just bolted it on he would of noticed the hub bore is diffrent and if he liked or hated the way the wheel's offset is.
