Re: Wood Trim

I got my flat pieces through eBay. The company I bought if from's eBay handle is "goodtrim", and they are the OEM mfr. That kit consisted of 33 pieces that cover most everything, including the center tower and oval clock, a total of 33 pieces and cost about $200 delivered ($180 + $20 delivery). They do not sell the door handles and shift ****, which I wound up getting from Everything Infiniti, a Phoenix-based Infiniti dealership. Those pieces cost about $160 delivered. They are a perfect match for each other. Some of the the flat pieces will need to be heated to contour to curved locations. I had my kit professionally installed, since it must be glued on, and that cost me $75. I put the four handles and shifter on myself. There's not much to it.

Re: Wood Trim

This pic doesn't do the wood justice. My full size pics at Imagestation give a much more realistic idea of the beauty of the wood.

Re: Wood Trim

It's basically the same pic, but I had to downsize it in order to be able to post it on this server. They have a limit of 100kb for pics here. The original is MUCH larger than that! ; )

Re: Wood Trim

I see that the wood trim kit that I bought on eBay is offered again today, auction # 7905141467. It has a couple of good pictures of an installation that should give you an idea of how it will look. The kit dies not include the door handles and shifter, though they are shown in the pictures. You would probably need to get those pieces from Infiniti unless you find some for sale by a private party. "Goodtrim" (seller) is the OEM supplier to Infiniti for the flat wood veneer pieces.

Re: Wood Trim

Thanks Everyone:

I order the wood trim pkg from Everything Infiniti. Total was 177.00 Shipped. I do have one question though. How do I remove the shifter on an Auto Transmission.

Thanks

Re: Wood Trim

I could only find the rear door panels on the site, so I just called them instead. They shipped the items today and said they should arrive buy Thursday.

Re: Wood Trim

It wasn't a kit per say. I order the 4 door pieces (17.xx ea.) and a new shifter w/ the wood trim (100.xx)

Re: Wood Trim

The trim piece on the shifter should just pop out and the new wood piece pop right in shouldn't it? Why didja have to get a whole new shifter?

Re: Wood Trim

I am not sure whether it is the entire shifter or just the insert. The gentleman I spoke with said that this is what I need. Since it costs 100.00 I would image it is the entire shifter not just the insert.

Since ddmander already order this kit from EverythingInfiniti maybe he can better answer that question.

Re: Wood Trim

Oh, okay, so you basically just got the factory pieces, cool, you'll like that touch, I hadn't thought about it much until I drove a loaner with the standard handles and shifter, man what a difference! I was hoping maybe you got something like I posted in another thread, This looks nice too!

Re: Wood Trim

You can remove the shifter handle by pushing/seperating the lower plastic trim piece (just beneath shifter handle itself) down until it disengages from the handle. There is a "C" clip that holds the shifter in place which is exposed with the trim piece is seperated from the shifter handle. Remove it with a needle-nose pliers and the shifter will lift right out. Installing is the reverse. Make sure that the lower trim piece is properly aligned to fit back onto the new shifter and push it up back into position when it is. You are done And yes, you get the entire shifter handle, not just the insert. It appears to me that the insert in the shifter handle is a glued piece. It would probably be a mess to remove. I hope this is helpful.
