i have always noticed there are two plastic caps that cover something on the steering column directly under the turn signal and wiper stalks. I have a feeling this is where the paddle shifters connect into. The question is are they plug and play in terms of wiring?

I believe those are the bolts to release the steering wheel and/or airbag.

Skyline 350 GT-8 is a CVT transmission, so parts from one might not work on a normal slushbox.

DaveB, do you have a source in Japan for the kit?

???? Why would a CVT need paddles ????

Most CVTs have fake shift points programmed to make it seem like real gear ratios. Paddles do the switching between programmed ratios just as easily as real ratios.

It can be done for sure, and we should be releasing a kit in the future. For the amount of work and time involved, it's on hold right now. I've been running this setup and using it daily for a year and a half now. I've been to a few track events, and have never had an issue.

The only problem I see with the new version of the aftermarket paddle kit, is that the paddles sit too low - otherwise, it's a great solution... especially at its price. The 350GT-8 paddles are another solution, but since they are leather wrapped the price is pretty high. I would be real interested to see someone try that route, I myself didn't want to spend the money. Anyhow, just thought I'd post pics since I saw my name mentioned, and I deleted the old thread months ago.

True, but logic would say that the upshift/downshift signal is transmitted through 1 wire.

SO why can't we tap the signal wire into the Manumatic's upshift/downshift signal wires as well?

In other words, pulling a paddle to upshift sends a 12V signal down to the consule shifter and taps into the wire that would signal if you just bumped the stick forward?

Of course without parts and seeing them, no idea if it will work.
