You need to buff that yellow off those head lights first... damn. And the bulb you're looking to replace is the D2R HID bulb. You can get a decent pair for around $60+ But good luck with the install, it's not all that easy, bumper needs to be dropped or wheel splash guards removed to access that bulb for removal.

Actually, if he's calling it yellow and ugly, he prob has an '03 with halogen headlights.

You can either swap in 04+ HID headlights, or buy some of those ricer blue lights and run those.

^ True, I forgot to mention, if those are Halogen, you can buy a complete HID kit with bulbs/ballasts/harness for $40 up. They go for cheap these days.

Look at the front, bottom of the headlight lens and see if it says "H1" or "D2R" in small writing. If it is H1 is is halogen, if D2R it is HID.

Answer will be based on which on it is.

Well he is pointing to the HIGH beam part. There are 2 bulbs one is the small city or driving lamp (i think it is a small 194 bulb) I am also trying to replace that bulb but it is too cold. I am dropping in an LED or a strub system to pass people on the highway.

Also we do not have HID high beam, only low beam. Since you can have the high beam be the fog light, i would look for a PIAA bulb with the yellowish ( well this is the nice yellowish ) tint. I will then aim my headlamps a little higher and not have to use my high beams unless for flashing or for fog.

Or hell i will just find a nice set of fogs and add them in with a relay.

Aren't the HIDs on top of the high beams in our lighting units? I thought the high/fog lights are on the bottom.

You're right, other poster was wrong. Unless both of our sedans are wired backwards. Looks like OP has stock halogens and wants the xenon package.

I know this is an old thread here but i noticed that the top light in my headlight assemply is not on. when i turn on my head light the lower bulb turns on and when i hit the switch for high beam that lower light increases in intensity. can anyone explain this. If i was not clear please let me know. I have 2004 G35X. I am confused here. I was under the impression that the lower light was the low beam and the higher light was the high beam.

Lower light is running light/high beam.

Upper light is usually HID and is only on when you turn your lights on. (When side markers turn on)

They turn on if nothing is on and you put it right into highbeams. They are completely out even when the high beams are on?

If so, the bulbs are probably burnt out.

That confused me...

Are you trying to say 2003s don't have HIDs?
