If I am understanding this line correctly, you are stating that when the 6th gen Maxima came out it lost those items?

Mine had HID's and an in-dash trip computer stock. It also had ample luxury and sport character. The whole character statement is a matter of opinion.

*no, i meant that those things were standard on the 5.5 gen except the GXE.. in the 6 gen u had to option them with packages and the trip comp only came with nav.. only thing the 6 gen had goin for me was wanting one only for the copper orange/burnt orange interior and the elite 2+2 package... i think that is a hott set up!!

 

I know it's late now, I have driven both cars and I think the g35 is a much better car. The Maxi is a fantastic car, btw i was thinking of buying a 6mt version. My beef with them is the steering, can't turn all the way, hard to make sharp turns, also the interior is inferior compared to the g, and it's fwd.

I didn't use "a bit" but the reason why I replied to this thread yesterday because I was debating on which car to get. I saw an 03 g35 sedan 6mt, which is very rare, and an 04 maxima 6mt because I always liked big cars. I chose the g kuz of da power, the steering, the name, the luxury and it was a premium package. The Maxi is a nice car but let me say this again in a different way. Because to me the torque steering is a big issue and I don't want to lose control when it comes to powering up and thr Maxis steering is horrible to me. Plus the interior looks a bit outdated while the g's cluster still seems to outshines. The Nissan has 5 more hp than the Infiniti but because its fwd and bad handling, the g will still merk the maxi in a drag and circuit.

I dont know about in drag. i've seen a lot of more NA 3.5 maxima in the 13's then i do G35's.
For a DD, you cant go wrong with either. I dont believe in the whole FWD stinks and torque steer.

I do think a maxima and G35 in equal trim and miles, the G35 is a better buy because its often times a cheaper car.
