Told my dealer passenger side switch no longer has backlight. Have a friend who has an older I30 and he had this problem. The whole switch had to be replaced.

Dealer told me today there is no backlight. I drove the car the other night, the driver's side is lit up, passenger is not. Luckily I have a service manual which shows the illumination separate from the on indicator.

I think I'll call him to tell him what page it is in the manual. What do you guys think of this?

I wanted to make sure switch replacement is the way to fix it. If he gives me a hard time again, I'm going to just ask for the switch and I'll replace it. I am under warranty.

Thanks for any help,

Mark

illumination and switch is one piece. It's all part of the switch.

Thanks - My G has the exact same issue! And it's also a 2004!

Technically you can replace the bulbs, however, Infiniti does not sell the bulbs seperately so you'll need to buy some bulbs to replace them. I had to replace the on LED myself. Spent $1.50 in parts instead of $65 on a switch (CDN).

I have the exact same issue with mine...drivers side is backlit, but passenger side isn't.

Related question: Is the snow mode (X) supposed to be backlit as well? When it's on the switch is green, but when it's off, nothing.

I was wondering the same thing. Mine just lights green when on, no backlight.

Pop the switch out, pop the cover of the switch off and locate the bulb, I believe the one is an LED and the other is just bulb with an orange rubber cover.

One of my heated seat switch lights is also out. My snow mode light has never worked, until a few weeks ago when it randomly lit up for like a half a day. I'm planning on getting these fixed under my extended warranty because I need to bring it in to get my seatback controls fixed.

Anyone know what could be the problem if my seat will recline but won't come back up? I've been driving super gangsta style for over a month.
