I called Stillen and asked them if it were possible to retro fit the new resonator pipes or muffler from the new exhaust to the old one to lower the sound level. One salesman told me the new exhaust is a complete redesign and nothing from the new exhaust would mate up to the old one. I finally got a hold of Adam Hume. He told me he didn’t know if anything would fit between the old and new exhaust. He told me if he ever found out, he would let me know. I guess Stillen wants to sell this as a complete unit, not individual parts.

I've had mine on for almost a week now. It's loud but not that loud for me. Definitely better than when I had the HKS muffler with the coupe midpipe, which in combination droned badly to my ears. My impression is that there is some gain midrange and up. For me, it was worth the wait. I'll try to get some sound clips and pics soon too.

Where's Waldo??

Well, got my X exhaust from Stillen last week and finally got the opportunity to install it. Put the car up on the ramps and jack stands............took off the old Stillen single end pipe.............took off my 05' coupe middy...............struggled with the bolts on the stock "Y" pipe, but finally prevailed.................WD-40'd all my hangers in preperation..................opended the X pipe box OK................opened the other box containing the end pipe and middies, uh oh! Anybody find Waldo? Must be the new "updated " ComptechRSX (A-Hole) version of the "Swiss Cheese Mod" for the X exhaust "gone bad" LOL. It's being Fed X'd........Jeeeeezus

I'm surprised to hear your HKS and Midpipe droned. I must admit you're the first with that feedback.

Most people that have it have said there is no droning at all. Do you know what caused it? Just curious.

The Stillen is nice but a bit loud for my wife. Great choice.

The new 05 version is suppose to be quieter. The question is how much?

hey guys, i'm not sure what's the big hype about the stillen exhaust. i have a true borla exhaust put on my car 6-8 months ago. there were minor changes but overall, it was very easy to do. here are some pics:

j frigin b to the frigin x,

lol, that sucks. not just that they forgot to send you the part of the exhaust, but that you were already under the car working on it when you realized it.

The new version is quieter (much) than the old Stillen Cat-back.

No...I only noticed it when I got to actually pull'n the middies out of the box (seperate). It was stupid on my part, but I just wasn't thinking about the fact that this system uses duals....unlike most others using a single middy. They pack the "X" in one box and all the other components in another with enough packing material to safely ship an elephant. It got right by me....duh
