Quote: The headlight housing on my friends miata melted where the rack was touching it. The rack eventually heated up and put lines into the plastic. Better safe than sorry on everything.
Miatas suck!

LOL...jk man.

Put it on a cookie sheet, not directly on the rack itself. I'm only speaking from experience with G headlights, coupe and sedan. I've done several sets this way and no issues. But you are correct in saying you can take precautions for everything if one wants.

Give me a call if you want before you do it. I can give you a quick run down of what needs to be done. I've done that for a few here on the boards before. YOu can do it, it's not that hard. Or pay me and I'll do it

It's slow, but you better watch out when you hit the bends because that's where that thing kicks ***. Cookie sheet is a good idea!

I'm scared to try this. I'd like to try to clean out the cloudiness on the INSIDE portion of my lenses. But I'd probably black them out since I had it off.

I'd like to try this too, but i'm a little hesitant.

If i send them out to someone, how quick would i get them back since i'd have no headlights to drive with??

It takes me a day to complete a set of headlights....I only have time on the weekends so, I do it on Sat and ship out on Monday.

You can do it! I was hesitant at first then did it with my friend who had already done a few...since then, I've done like 8 sets. It only sounds/looks intimidating but it really isnt. I think I've gone over the steps in some thread before...I'll see if I can find them again...I'm too lazy to type it out right now

yeah, the hardest part is taking off your bumper without scratching it. i've read a lot of peoples thread where they scratched it taking it off... make SURE you have beach towels laid out for it, and if AT ALL possible, get a friend so you're taking it off from both sides.

You don't need to fully remove the bumper...just drop it forward. There's a DIY on it (on removing the headlights) You also want to tape up just above the corner lights so prevent the corner light brackets that are attatched to the bumper from scratching your paint. That is where most people do the scratching up. Yes...beach towels or a blanket right under the front lip and a friend
