Throttle body bypass mod?

Ok, don't punk me. I haven't checked in detail whether our cars have that hose that goes through the TB. You know the mod where you clamp off that hose so it doesnt make your TB hot, that's what I'm talkin about. Do we have that or has anybody done that?

Re: Throttle body bypass mod?

We do have the hose, and I have been tempted to do it, its just a pain in the butt to get to on our cars. So I kinda haven't done it yet myself.

Re: Throttle body bypass mod?

The major purose of heating the TB is to keep the plate warm, so that PCV gases [oil vapor] won't condense on the rear of the throttle plate during the sudden temperature drop caused by the high vacuum under the plate at cruise rpm.

At WOT the air is moving so fast it doesn't get heated by the radiance of the TB heat........maybe a few degrees but not significant compared to having to clean the TB much more frequently.
