Got Bumped..

So I was just going to class tonight, and I got bumped coming out of my apartment parking lot... Lady's not sure if she wants to go through insurance yet or not, so I am off to find quotes tomorrow for a new bumper

If anyone knows of any good body shops in Rochester NY, or someone who has a TB rear bumper for an 03-04 sedan please let me know. Gonna go to the stealership tomorrow, as well as a few other places, but I don't want to screw the lady over, and I would rather deal with it myself so I don't have to deal with insurance bull****. I did have a police report done up, but not filed yet until we decide if we are going that route or not.

Heres a crappy iphone pic, which is all I have atm

Advice: Call the lady up, tell her if she doesn't want to deal with insurance, you will go to a body shop of your choice and will get an estimate. Then you will send/tell her the bill and you send me a check. Best way to deal with it IMHO.

Sorry to hear about it though man. Goodluck

Exactly what I did, told the chick that I'm going to get quotes and I'll let her know tomorrow

To the heat up idea, I still need to repaint it, theres definite paint cracks and one big scratch that can't get buffed out

I've got 5 body shops on my list tomorrow so yeah

Yep, and there isnt' really a way to flip the tables, Police said that to get the report to go in only one of us had to call, (shes 19 so she'll probably try to get out of that so her rates don't skyrocket) but to throw out the report we BOTH had to contact them.

So if she tries to shiest me, I can just go back to the police and at that point the insurance can handle it.

I've got my a** covered, and if she cooperates, I'll be nice. If she doesn't I wont.

lol.. as long as you got things under control, you'll be fine. Nice of you not wanting to bump the price up too high. I wouldn't care who it was, I would jack that ish up to the extreme just for payback from hitting me lol

Try not to be too nice. You deserve to have your car fixed right and not have to go out of your way too much. Just call and get 3 estimates, give them to her and see what she wants to do. If she haggles you, go through insurance.

What's funny is you'll try to be nice to the girl and help her out, but one day down the road you could bump someone and put a tiny scratch in their bumper and they'll call the ambulance and try to sue you.

Hey Pete,

Let me know how much a new painted bumper is running you. I got "bumped", but not as bad as your situation. I'm thinking about replacing mine as well. I'm going on Saturday to get a quote and it would be nice to be able to compare it.
