Alternator

How hard is it to replace the alternator on these cars? will it easily slip out from underneath or do you have to take anything apart?

I haven't done it but I have taken the lower engine cover off and it's fully accessable from the bottom.

See page 31: http://www.g35frenzy.com/downloads/2...anual/K/sc.pdf

It took me about 4 hours in the cold garage. It's pretty straightforward and not very complicated. The FSM states the radiator fans must be removed, so for that you would have to drain the coolant. I did not take the radiator fans out and/or drain the coolant because I was able to barely sneak the tools into position. You will have to unscrew the radiator fan assembly and move it around a little bit.

The tricky parts are all the electrical connectors. For it to easily slip out from underneath you will have to disconnect the front sway bar (8 big bolts). Also, I hope you have small hands and are not afraid to have cuts on the top sides of your hands.
