Hail Damage

My G35 was beat up by hail 3 days ago. It has dents in the hood, the entire drivers side, the roof, the chrome trim on the doors, & it cracked the headlight . Does anyone know how they will repair the damage? I'm taking to the insurance adjuster in the morning. It has about 40 dents in the car.

More likely he will tell you to take it to the body shop and get couple of estimates. There are couple ways to get dents out, one is dry ice and the other one is the paintless dent removal. The second one is located (the last time I checked) peachtree and 285.

They insurance adjuster said they have a tent set up in a Lowes parking lot, for claims. I'm supposed to go there in the a.m. & they are supposed to look @ it & cut me a check. Then I'm supposed to take their estimate & give it to the repair shop. Sounds crazy, but State Farm has always paid my claims well.

Just a recommendation from experience, do not take the check they cut you right away! Go to a few different shops and get estimates. Then have them do an estimate write up so it's on paper and you can bring it to the adjuster. It will atleast help you with some bargaining so you won't get shorted. Good luck and sorry to hear about your car

Don't worry about being shorted. If you take it to a State Farm-approved repair facility and the check isn't enough to cover the damages (minus your deductible), they will call State Farm to let them know about it. The bottom line is that your policy is an indemnity contract, so whatever the going rate for labor/parts to make repairs, that's what the ins co is on the hook for.

I'm in the Financial Services world--I knows whats I speaks

I had a vehicle badly damaged by hail a number of years ago. Dent Wizard was able to get all of the dents out of the metal. When they were done, I couldn't tell that the vehicle had been damaged by hail. Amazing job.

Dry Ice is not a method for fixing hail damage or any other dent. No professional would be caught dead trying this.

Most likely they will use PDR and replace the molding and light with salvage parts. Not that you would ever know. If you want new you have to make that very clear. Its a pretty quick deal and a good tech can get the car fixed to near 100%. If its real bad they will replace the panels but it has to get up into the near baseball size for this these days.
