Re: turbo or supercharger?

Myself I'm going supercharged with probably cams.

I think Turbo charging takes a bit more than just slaping turbos on..

Just my 2 cents.

Re: turbo or supercharger?

Sound weird? I am not sure the spooling sound of a auto turbo is different than a manual. Any case, auto or manual - the sound of a turbo is AWESOME!!!!!! Man, I miss my Turbo AWD Typhoon and those 5.1 0-60 runs!!!

Godzilla: I agree, going Turbo is definitely more complex than S/C. But, there is much more power potential.

Jobes: If your budget is limited, then S/C is the way to go now. I will wait until those turbo kits are cheaper or Infiniti puts one on the G. That would be so sweeet!!!!!

Re: turbo or supercharger?

Turbo should sound the same on both auto and manual. As stated above, there is much more power potential with the turbo...It just depends on what your goals are.

Re: turbo or supercharger?

One point to putting the Turbo on an AT is that you can power brake and launch at full boost. Not sure how successfuly you can do that with a supercharger. Depends on the stall speed of the G's AT, I guess.

There is an 11 seconds G35 with Vortech supercharger (9psi) and running on STOCK internals. For me its more then enough. If you goal is less then 11s then turbo will be more efficient with upgraded internals, transmission and drive shaft which would lead to extremely expensive project.
