Squeaking Noise

Hey all, just got my G 3 weeks ago and I just started noticing that when I back up and only when I back up, it sounds like the brakes or rotors are squeaking as the wheels roll. It doesn't ALWAYS happen, more so when it's been cold out or when the car hasn't been driven that day yet. The car makes no noise when I move forward though. Is it the brakes/rotors or is it something else? Do you think the Infiniti dealership will fix whatever it is considering how recently the car was purchased?

My car does this as I back up only once in the morning and once in the evening. If I stop on the way home and back out, it won't do it again unless the car sits for several hours. Front rotors and pads are recent so I'm hoping that cutting the rear rotors and installing new pads will take care of this.......

In my case it just doesn't make much sense because I got the car certified pre-owned so the rotors and brakes should really be in good shape. Let me know how that goes with you and if anyone else has any input, it would be much appreciated

replacing just the pads won't solve the problem u got to have some good anti squeal shims, preferably OEM ones which solved my squealing

Brand new with 15 miles on the odo, or 2 yrs old w/ 25k mi or 5yrs & 80kmi.

Even right after a brake change--new rotors/pads--this car is known to do this. When new infiniti had a free pad replacement deal which is normally a wear issue and not covered. I think a complete brake upgrade to 05+ or aftermarket is the only way to completely rid this and similar 03-04 brake issues...though I'm no expert on this.

I'm sure others will ask you to do a search---look in the brake section for more info.........

So the only real way is to do an '05+ brake swap? Maybe I'll just swap in some Brembos...
