Axmily--I paid $200 to have my windows tinted. I would be happy as hell to recommend you to him. He's owned several shops and finally decided the overhead and paying employees was too pricey, so now he and his son do it out of his garage (which LOOKS like a tint shop) and is VERY professional. He also offers a lifetime warranty.
Topnotch--the darkest possible would be 1%. 0% would be no light through, but that would be a painted window, not a "tinted" window. Limo tint is 5% usually. Double limo will come out to around 2%

How do you drive with that dark?
SO if you have limo tint 5% and 2 layers thats:
78% tint (factory tint) + 5% + 5%
.78 x .05 x .05 = .1%
Thats just crazy

I paid $180. If you are local to Boston PM me and I can tell you a great shop I always go to.
35% film on factory glass is always darker. Factory tint is 78% according to my meter (yes I actually bought a tint meter)
So 35% film on 78% glass is 27% on the meter and that's what it actually comes out to. It all depends on the brand tint of course. If you want to see what that looks like, i posted a pic of my car with STone interior on Page 2. With graphite i'm sure it will look darker. I think it's perfect and wouldn't want it any darker.

A wise man once said "Form follows function." Your windows are not functional AT ALL. You can't even argue that they are.
Anyone here have their windshield tinted? How dark? Is it a bitch to see out of at night? I'm thinking of doing something like a 50% on the windshield. Does the windshield have tint dyed into the glass like the side windows?

^My windshield was tinted at 60% on a Maxima. It was nice since I never had to wear shades from the blinding sun.
I'm in MA also but had my car tinted in Queens, NY for $125. Rear three windows were tinted at 5% and 10% on fronts. You may want to take into consideration the brake light sitting behind the rear window. I asked the tint shop to cover the entire window meaning all the seats had to be removed in order for it to work. Not my style having the box cut around the light...doesn't look very clean IMO...but that's just me
