This is bad advice.

DO NOT have your personal mechanic take care of it. This car is under warranty, and you could void parts of the warranty if a non-Infiniti Certified technician works on it.

And yes, you CAN force a dealership to do a warranty repair. It's part of their agreement with Infiniti that they must do warranty repairs. If they don't, contact Infiniti about the situation. If they've had repeated problems with a dealership, Infiniti can revoke their right to do any warranty work in the future and/or take away their franchise so they can't sell an Infiniti.

But to get it done without the hassles, take it to another dealership.

Well, they mentioned hitting the "DISPLAY" button in that thread. When I tried it, it did nothing for me. After trying and trying again, I held it down for somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds. My car has been displaying the RDS info ever since.

Please give that a try. Hold down that Display button way longer than you think you need to.

Good Luck,
Dave
This also works for displaying text if you are playing an MP3 CD.
It's in the manual

Oh shut up.

Just go to a different dealership. Everyone gets fvcked with at the dealership. You're nothing "special" or "different".

I have an oil drip/leak problem that the dealer will not address....Can someone advise me as to how to handle this?

I have complained about a burning smell in my car for the past one year (ten thousand miles). I've had three oil changes (my fourth last week) in the meantime. Each time I take the car to the dealer to complain that something is wrong. They claim that they looked at the car and cannot duplicate the issue. Also, they never even bothered to tell me that my air filter needed to be changed.

I've got a picture of the oil leak/drip. How should I handle this now? My feeling is that the dealer doesn't want to fix the problem.

I also complained to the dealer that something is wrong with my radio, because it doesn't display the radio info like a RDS radio should. They told me that my car doesn't have an RDS radio. Infiniti customer relations just sent a written confirmation stating that my car is equipped with this function.

What do I do, here? this is crazy. I've used Infiniti of Englewood in new jersey and Infiniti of Manhattan. Both are shady.

It doesn't help that I am a woman (and a minority). I've seen how they treat us differently, unfortunately.

Any help or advice would be tremendously appreciated.
You can always hike up Rt 17 and try Infiniti of Ramsey.

As I understand it you've had 4 oil changes with this stealership and complained about the oil leak each time. Like a few others have mentioned
it's time to find another dealership. My question is, "why have you waited
so long to spend your $ somewhere else?" The only reason I'd ever go to my
dealership is if I needed warranty work. I don't like them nor do I
trust their work. With my previous Z I never felt that way at the Nissan
dealership....

To the OP, push and hold the DISP button and that will toggle the RDS on and off.

It also works with CD's. You can have it say the disk name or the song name.

I don't about your minority status affecting whether the shop will or won't repair your car (it's never affected me), but being a woman often (not always) does. I've experienced it, but then again, I know cars very well so am not easily fooled by the BS fed to me. When buying my car, the dealer wanted to know if my husband was with me, or my father since: "girls need help deciding these complicated issues!" I showed him my 92 Volvo 3 metres away, explained how I had to replace the head gasket myself and the front struts with KYB's, including the strut mounts. He got quiet and off we went to see the cars. When I finally decided on my G, I immediately went to another salesperson (young, new kid) and had him do all the paperwork after the older guy had spent >1 hour with me!

A strong , assertive to aggressive women will usually easily buffalo the stealership if she's in the right: timidity will get us nowhere- temerity will get you places in the car world!

When I had a problem with my local dealership, I contacted consumer affairs, got a call a few days later from the regional manager to bring the car in for warranty service...You gotta get to the top of the chain to get things done sometimes...
