Hey, I've been lurking around here for almost six months now. I'm sure I'm planning to get a G35 now; I was deciding between a 325i, Acura TL, and the G35. This car has to be the one! It was the best test drive yet. I am planning to place my order in October 2004. Will I be able to order a 2004 sedan? When do they stop production of 2004 models? I would like a Navi unit in mine, and I'm in Canada. Do you think I'll have any luck getting an 04, or would I have to go with an '05?

 

I think you might like the 05 more than the 04. From what I've read, they've addressed what some felt were shortcomings in the interior, the exterior styling is freshened up and horsepower goes to 270. Here in the US, it doesn't seem there will be much difference in price. About $250, if I remember correctly. And I don't know about the timing of model year introductions in Canada but in the US a buyer will undoubtly be able to negotiate a sweet deal on a 04 starting in late August/early September. Dealers will want to clear their lots of remaining 04 inventory.

at this time you will not be able to order a 2004 model from Japan because at this time the factory turns production over for the next year's model. You will only be able to get what's already in the dealer lots and hopefully matching your options. Like calejohnson said, in the light of that you should be able to get some good deals on the 04s since dealers want to make way for the 05s.
