FIRST SCRATCH

ugh!!!

got my first scratch on my g35x and it wasnt even my fault!

the place i live in has valet parking and the valets are cool in the sense they let me park my own car. but sometimes they have to move it and i've told them to be careful with my car. this morning as i go to get my car for work, i do the normal walkaround and i find a scratch. its small but still ... the first one is the most painful. i spoke to the manager and he told me he was sorry and he'll talk to the night guy who moved my car.

do you think an *** kicking would have been sufficient in this case? ARGH!

Re: FIRST SCRATCH

Well, I'm a relatively new G35 owner and I am kind of fretting the discovery of my first scratch [knock on wood, hasn't happened yet]. But I can imagine that I will be just as fustrated / upset as you [and others] have posted. At least it was a small one...

Re: FIRST SCRATCH

Oh Man! What a bummer! I mean like ... it's the friggen "G"! Where's the justice? The valet is like a **&^$ jerk. Must have his head on a stick!

I'm sorry, erok, I just don't get it. Are you seriously upset about your ride having a scratch on it or are you really asking that the guy who happens to be just trying to get by on whatever meager wage your building is paying him/her is able to avoid ever having something happen to your ride? Yeah, you should be asking yourself if you're being too critical because what your post says about you is you hate it when something "beyond your control" happens to your car. Have you lived life so perfectly that nothing has ever happened on your watch? Nobody could ever be critical of you?

I'm sorry if this sounds like a flame but what would the valet think if they read your post?

PS I've got scratches. A gravel truck without a covered load pulled in front of me before I could avoid the spray of loose rock. Another I just discovered on the rear quarter panel from who knows where and a bumper that shows that some folks don't back up carefully when they leave a parking space. That's life - own a car - it will look less than perfect after a short time.

PPS Actually, I do feel badly for you, but I don't think you should be posting about this. It's just a scratch. Sorry it was your ride but sooner or later these thing happen to YOUR ride. And MINE!

Re: FIRST SCRATCH

Yea, sorry about the scratch man.

If it makes you feel better, I got my first scratch before the car left the dealer's lot -- hit the bottom of my car. DamN Nismo front bumper!

But you know, a car is not a museum piece, it's meant to be driven. Get a scratch, forget about it, and drive!

Re: FIRST SCRATCH

The only good thing about this is that its out of the way. It always hurts, but now at least the next wont be that painful.

Got my first scratch at about 1k...and yes, it still hurts even though I've gotten plenty since.

Re: FIRST SCRATCH

erok I understand where your coming from, but I also understand where johnson is coming from. It is just a scratch, but still some people tend to treat their car's like gold and when you give someone responsibility of the car that's something you just have to risk. I am pissed everytime I see a scratch on my car, but what can I do. If he will get it fixed that's fine, dont don't go over board about this. Good luck, Martin
