How to remove lower grilles from bumper?

Does anyone knows how to remove the two lower grilles from the bumper on a 06 sedan?

Did the search already but nothing useful is returned (maybe I am not using the right keywords).

Instructions or a link would be great...

Thanks.

you are talking about the black grilles? I have not looked at the sedan but they are built into the coupe bumper. If you want them out you will need to take the bumper off and grind it flat around the lip of the grill and then i will com off. (if it is the same)

Yes, the black grilles but unlike the coupe, they are removable. I am just not sure how they are holding onto the bumper. Also don't want to take the whole bumper off if I don't have to.

you should be able to push them in. The bumper has built in L shaped clips and the grill is shaped like [_____] so when you push the grille over it, it clips in

its best to take off the bumper to do this - y you ask? well i just feel so because I had my bumper off in about 10 mins last week to install my fogs and it would be much easier to do so.

no need to take the bumper off. Just push the inserts in, they are held in place by urethane clips built into the bumper.

thanks man - will save me quite a bit of time! what would be the best way to install mesh in place of them? I have the ebay grill and my fog lights melt the plastic grill so I had to cut holes in them. I'll ask TTrank too

You'd have to dremel the built in clips off of the bumper to put mesh in there.

Why not dremel out the rest of the insert and install the mesh onto that? It should then just go right back in like stock.

I popped mine out, wrapped them in fiberglass mesh, and reinstalled them - worked out great to keep the bugs and rocks out of my engine bay.
