I might buy Coilovers...

BUT, it would be strictly for practicality purposes (strange thing to say...) and it wont be until probably july (gotta save some $$$)

I might be going to college in Fargo ND. They get a lot of snow there, and i think it would be extremely nice to be able to lift my car up for the winter time to add some clearance (my car plows snow right now with these Z springs)

Do you have to worry about anything with coilovers in snow??? Or is it not recommended?

I dont see what the problem would be. i could slam it come summer Well, maybe not. Maybe a little lower than Z springs..

Why Fargo for god sakes? I STRONGLY suggest you spend a few days there before signing on. College is suppose to be fun. Why would you want to pay out of state tution to go to school in Fargo? What exactly is the reason?

As for snow, you got that right. They get a lot of it. Pass on the coilovers because raising the car an inch ain't gonna help you. You should consider buying a winter beater truck while you're there or just hitching rides. Better yet, consider going to school somewhere else.

lol yea, but get this. i thought the same thing. Until i went there and discovered it is a college town with lots of wealth. Their economy is very strong, and lots of multi millionaires live up there. 3 Universities as well.

Off subject a bit but yea haha you run your X in the snow??

I can raise it to stock height. And i did spend a few days there. And technically, the college i might go to isnt in Fargo, it is in moorehead (basically fargo, but in MN).

It isnt quite the BFE town you guys think it is... lots of successful people came out of the college i went to (including my dad lol)

A town full of rich people and colleges doesn't necessarily mean it's a great place to go to school. Their ecomony is strong because they've got no where to spend their money. And who cares about the ecomony of Fargo unless you plan on living there. Winter is enough of a pain in the butt with the cold and snow. If you're going to live where it's cold and snowy, live somewhere where you can use the snow like Colorado or similiar. If memory serves me correctly, Fargo is about as flat as a pancake, fairly rural, and pretty tiny.

College is so much more than just the education. It's a place to learn about yourself, learn time management, responsibility, party, meet people, and go to college events (ie sports). Basically become an adult.

Well, before you say there is nothing to do, you should check out the college i want to attend first. Concordia in moorehead MN. Google it.

Aside from that.... are coilovers ok to use in the snow?

BTW, don't be that guy that goes to school where his dad did. Save yourself/family some money and go to school in state. Believe me when I say this, a college degree is simply a ticket to get into the working world quickly. Don't kid yourself into thinking someone is going to care where you got your degree from unless you're a doctor or some sort amazing physicist. Work ethic and solid experience is what propels you up the real job ladder.

This college IS in state.. Its in the north western part of the state by North Dakota. You all care about the college so much. Trust me, i have deliberated it quite a bit. Im not a 4.0 student that can get into yale, and if i can get into here, it is probably my best option. My parents are stongly advising against 2 year then transfer... and i dont want to be one of those people that takes a semester off then never goes back.

Don't listen to anybody. They want to live your life for you.

Yes, coilovers will be fine in the snow. Keep in mind that when you adjust up/down you will probably need to get an alignment each time.

go to whatever school you want too, but coilovers arent worth getting if your just gonna lower it a tad bit more then have to raise it up then back down. alignments are expensive

as mentioned before, unless you want to throw over a couple bills a year on alignments, you should just save that money instead for a cheap winter car.. yes, i realize thats not as fun as buying coilovers... but you need to learn that until you have the kind of money to buy nice new cars anytime you want.. park your nice car out of snow.
