Wow, that's bad! I just changed mine at 20k and it wasn't nearly that bad...but it did smell like wet dog.

Here's the DIY for the cabin filter change: http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gsed...eplacement.htm

No... you can see the top (dirty) side from under the hood for inspection.
To replace, you have to disassemble the glove box on the interior like blklude98 said.

isn't any tougher to replace if equipped with OEM nav? I have a new filter but haven't yet replaced mine. I'm at 80k.

Does this need to be changed every 12K miles? Looks like a nice product but IMO might be worth the $24 if you live in a heavily dusted, leaf-filled pollenized area. Otherwise I can just go to Advance Auto, pay less than $13 for a Purolator cabin filter and replace every year.

Activated carbon works very well in removing odors for about a month. It's up to you if it's worth it.

I would just get the cheap one and change it every few years depending on how dusty it is where you live.

Do you park underneath a tree? I changed mine at 45K and it was nowhere even close to that dirty.

Not under but close to one...That's most likely why, never thought of that.
