75,000 Maintenance

Anybody have the following maintenance done and if so, any idea what you paid for it?

-Oil Filter Replacement
-In-cabin microfiilter replacement
-Brake Lines/Cables
-Brake Pads & Discs
-Automatic Transmission Fluid
-Exhaust
-Steering Gear & Linkage

Also, the backlight on my clock no longer works. What are the chances that it's a fuse?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!

call a couple different of dealerships (even some not in your area) to get an idea. I'm interested to find out, as I just had my 60k service ($600). So I can't imagine that the 75k would be anything above $1k.

Ask the dealer and then go to a trustworthy independent mechanic. The mechanic will almost certainly be cheaper.

I have a sheet from my local dealership which lists the cost of scheduled maintenance intervals until 90k. It had a ton of work listed for 75k, and ended up being about 869. The listing was more than what the factory required, and undoubtedly included some superfluous checks.

Highly recommend NOT going to the stealership for this service interval...complete waste of $ IMO. The first item is an oil change (go to who you usually go to or do it yourself), the 2nd one you can buy at local auto store & do it yourself in 1/2 hour...trust me, it's easy...you can get instructions on this forum how to do it. The remaining items are ALL inspections only and my guess is the stealership will want about $425 to do it! Take your car to a trustworthy local mechanic to inspect those items...will cost you fractions less if you're not able to perform yourself.

As for the backlight, I'd suspect the bulb is out.

If you're mechanically inclined, you can probably do all this yourself. You can save money, while enjoying you're car at the same time. There are a bunch of DIY (Do it yourself) videos all over the internet and on this forum. Some guy did a bunch of them here and they are really helpful: http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gsedan/index.htm .

You can for sure do the oil change (w/ filter), in cabin air filter, brake lines, pads, and rotors. The other stuff may be harder but it's worth a try.

Hawk pads: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...eet+brake+pads

In cabin filter: http://www.drivewire.com/npn/acc-cab.../infiniti-g35/

If you don't know what to do, it pays to research a little and find out how to service your car, so when it comes time to add mods, you can do it yourself as well.

the hawk pads are SO worth it, imho. when i bought the car it had oem(prob just cheap replacements) with huge dust issues. i've heard all over this forum that this is a common problem due to the weight of the x in particular. since switching to the hawks at 30k(about 12k in now), i've probably only cleaned my wheels once, maybe twice and they have had at most an eighth of the burnto on buildup.
