Quote: Wow!
Harakiri for sedan $749
Straight mid-pipe $219
XYZ w/HFC $525
ART Pipes $585
Total $2,078 + tax, ship, install
OUCH!
I wonder what a sedan with full Motordyne Bolt-ons and an Osiris tune will do on dyno, before and after plots, tuned and untuned.

The Harakiri & Dual VQ exhausts came with a midpipe. Pretty sure you could pick between a resonated/non-resonated one.

Quote: Awesome Tim, congrats on the pickup. You still have stock cats?

EDIT: nvm I answered my question about the middy, looked at the first post in this thread.
Yep stock cats.

Quote: Throw on some ART pipes too Tim and be fully MD out!
While I would love too we'll see. I'm trying to get to a resonated mid in addition to the resonated XYZ which just might allow me to consider the ART pipes.

Quote: ^I was thinking that too Chris, but with the straight pipe middy might be too much for Tim, remember he thought his HKS was too loud. He's such an ole man.
hahahahaha you're right, I'm old. I got rid of the HKS as much for the drone as for the volume and the VQ is supposed to be mostly drone-less. If so we might have a keeper!

Quote: I have the resonated pipe and its pretty quiet, that straight pipe is gonna produce big boy sound.

May be calling in some MD stuff myself this week
Wanna trade middies? My straight pipe is brand new and fully polished. It'll save you $200 and maybe we could meet in Waco to do it.

Quote: blue dream, you have the same setup as me minus the art pipes, its gonna sound great, but it will be a little loud. Art pipes make it sound like a race car at high rpms
How was your power increase when you got it all set up? Butt dyno happy?

Quote:

I think we are going to see a MD prototype in the marketplace in the very near future
Just might. I'm at the point in modding the car there are some things I'm not sure of so I might buy them, try them out, and sell them if I don't like them. I'm just getting drawn more and more to the power gains the MD exhaust can produce now that I got tuned.

See above my idea to save you $200. Let's trade beyotch!!

Well if you decide that you don't want the vq exhaust I will take it off your hands. I have been on the lookout for one along with an XYZ w/hfc. If that happens, somebody might want my zHR Y and zmid.

Butt dyno was very well noticeable, mostly at higher rpms. But still very satisfying

Thanks for the heads up. r1forever and I are going to swap mid pipes so I'll have 2 resonators in the mix. If that's too loud for me I give up..............

Yeah, I will take the double resonated VQ if you don't want it.

Couldn't exactly tell you, but I know there's a bit more power, especially felt at around 3k right before the vvl kicks in. The tone changed dramatically since I installed the 350z Mid and Y together. It has a purr on normal driving conditions (Drone is minimal to none), and a growl at WOT. I like it, but if I find a resonated VQ and XYZ W/ resonator or HFC, then it's up for grabs.

Alright as promised here's a vid taken on a point and shoot. I took one for the team just past halfway, I wanted to go WOT past the camera and there's a dip at the end of the driveway. Also gotta love the ant in the middle just cruising around.

MD resonated XYZ, straight mid, VQ prototype muffler.

Do I hear your tires spinning when the car downshifted? Was that a 2 to 1 downshift?
