Well, you pay the same for Lincoln/Ford, Chevy/Cadillac parts too, this has no bearing on whether it's a luxury name or not!

NO, not in my opinion!!! By the same logic, isn't an Audi just a pricey VW? Or how about the VW Phaeton?

Maybe it's been said and I missed it, but the service and dealerships are supposed to give better service too. You don't get loaner cars and the pandering at a Nissan dealership/service...Then again, an oil change is $10-$20 more expensive. So maybe you pay for it in other ways.
As for the G and Infiniti, you are getting some status and in some areas at least (maybe not CA) a level of exclusivity / novelty. Dare I even say exotic vibe? In some areas of the country they have never seen one so it does happen!
Would I still have bought it if it was a Nissan? Yes. Would I still have bought it if it was a BMW? No, that's too much "badge" and "snob" power for me to handle. At least in my neck of the woods.
OK, if the 330ci or M3 were about 5-10k cheaper I might have been able to deal with it. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
