Battery + Brake (!) dash lights ON

Hi Guys,

This issues i back on my car, just wondering if anyone has a solution

The Brake and Battery lights are lit up on my dash, they were dim but now fully solid.

Alternator is charging, 14.8 when on 12.8 when off. Any ideas?

Edit

actually anyone know how many amps the alt should be putting out?

Most likely the alternator needs replacing. I believe that's Nissan's standard indicator for an alternator going bad. My Maxima did that, and I had to replace the alternator.

Is this a question about TPMS or alternators?

The (!) light is the early TPMS warning light. It is YELLOW in color and was later replaced with a version with the tire in the middle

The BRAKE (!)(P) light is RED and is your parking brake, low fluid and other brake issue related warning light

brake + battery light means there is a fault in the charging system, typically caused by a bad alternator.

Bit if you are seeing 14.8v at idle the alternator is working fine.

that's the strange part, 14.8v is fine, but dealers says something about diode ripple. This happened a few weeks back and once a year ago. I've duplicated the battery and brake leds by pulling the 10amp alternator fuse. I;ll let you guys know when the new alternator goes in, should be thursday for sure. For now, back to driving the Audi TT
