skyline awd/4wd models.
hi, first time poster. been trolling the site at work for days. awesome info around. however, with the different badging / names of the cars between USA and New Zealand i am sort of struggling to sift out one thing id like to know.
which skylines / v35 / g35 came with 4wd/awd?
best i have been able to work out is that there is a 250gt (2.5 litre) FOUR that has it, but other than that its the second gen that have them started roughly 06/07.
if this has been asked / answered in the past, then sorry. damn different names confusing the hell out of me

thanks in advance.

in US we don't have 2.5 model
AWD models are X models.
So in US it's G35X

thanks for the reply.
reason i asked was that ive just payed for a 300gt (the 3litre) and never even asked if it was 4wd/awd. the thought never crossed my mind. i sort of just asumed all of them where RWD as the only skylines in the past to have it where the gtr and the gts4.
i pick it up in 12 hours and started reading about ppl with awd/4wd "g35" (on this site) and thought oh snap, i wonder if i just bought one. haha.
so yeah, if this info helps its a nissan skyline 300gt 2002.
any further help would be great.
heres a link to the car i got, photos suck but info is all there.

BTW, I doubt that model is AWD. If it is, they definitely aren't trying to sell it...
Also -
4WD is for trucks to go offroading with... so they can climb rocks, etc...
AWD is for cars to help maintain traction so you won't need chains to drive through snow, etc...

thank you all VERY much for all the replies.
well, its good news for me if it really is RWD, which is my gut feeling. coming from r33 gts25t slightly worked, would have been a bit of a downer if it was awd. just for me personaly.
yeah its been pretty well optioned from factory, just missing the partial leather and thats it really. got a really good deal for my trade and moving on up in the world
be sad to see my old skidder go but hay, gotta grow up some time i guess.
well, thanks alot for all the info, ill be sure to get some decent photos once ive taken delivery and post them in the photo part. think i might become a bit of a regular here, since you all replied so swiftly and nicely

True 4WD is definied as having a 4WD low gear in the transfer case.
If it doesn't, it's usually classified as AWD.
There are dozens of different setups of 4WD and AWD but the main distiguishing factor is having a low gear range.
thats kinda kreepy. not an hour ago i came across one of your pages while searching for the answer to this topic. haha. small world....wide web.. anyways, nice car. and yeah, ill take a few better shots and throw some on the site.
