Re: TechnoSquare Comments

I have an auto too and have no issues with picking up speed, I have hit 140mph twice so far and the car pulled all the way there..must be something amiss with yours.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

I think its the really hot weather, tonight it was cool out and my car wa spulling hard!! I also noticed my electric fan has been going nuts in my car like the roaring of a truck. Some people said its normal for the sedan but does it have anything also to do with my AC being broken? Dam injen intake, I also need to clean my intake out, ive had it for a year and its prob. so dirty!! We'll see, Martin

bosssho
Please keep us posted on the TS dyno.
I have the 5AT as well & this was def a mod Iwas planning.
Until now I have heard no other negative comments.
Depending on the dyno results it would be interesting to get some feedback from TS.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Catatafish ,

Are the Cats really proven to be that much of a restriction? What is the pricing and labor/install involved with doing this and what about passing emissions? Is any ONE brand of high flow cats sticking out at the leader in HP gains? And, most important to me, what about sound levels afterward?

Thanks buddy.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

RSPDiver,

I was thinking about this mysefl...After having a 7 wire grounding king and a half a$$ Frankencar project of a short arm CAI and running a 14.2 at 96+ I was wondering if my car was just strong to begin with...but that was also in 16' rims and smallers/narrower tires to boot...which as someone very accurately pointed out effectively increases my rear gear ratio and multiplies torque off the line too...this is why 18-20" rims are insane on a sports car unless you have an abundance of torque or a very agressive rear gear ratio to handle them...they help a lot in the looks department and in the handling department, but no where else, IE, acceleration and braking b/c of all the unsprung weight you have to deal with.

I am just going to have to dyno the car and I am thinking about bringing both sets of rims and tires there when I do it to see if there is a difference too. My car may have been strong to begin with...I don't think TS did anything wrong...I just don't think after where I have already been with this car they did anything to truly augment it.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

I would have your rig checked out...a bone stock 5AT in D, 4th or 5th should pull easily into the 135 range for speed and then continue without problem all the way up to 145 where the fuel restricted governor kicks in and leans out like 3 of the 6 injectors or something so that you can only maintain, but not exceed 145...for the 6 speeds and Coupes I believe the same thing happens, but at 154 mph...with the TS Reflash all of us should be able to do 160 +...which if I lived out in Nevada or Arizona, etc...I would be able to verify very easily. ;-)

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Yea boss? I always thought my car was a freak from the factory also a few months ago, that was when it was cooler out. Then my intake melted my ac line, I got bigger rims, wider tires and dropped my car, my injen filter is prob filthy and its hot as hell here. Im wondering, when my speedo says 125, is that wrong because of my rim size and tire profile? I dunno what's up with it, tomorrow im gettin hopefully an ecu flash to the 04 and throwin some mods in. I'll let you know how it goes, thx Martin

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

If you're overall tire/rim diameter is larger than the OEM size than your 125 mph run could be more like 130...and the oppostie if your went smaller.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Hmm that could be why!! Not sure but at 120-125 it feels fast and isnt pulling hard after that really!

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Question, did you purchase the ECU through Stillen? Are there several different brands available for the G35 Sedan? Reason I'm asking, is that in two weeks, my 6MT heads to Stillen for a full makeover. I'm really excited. I'm getting the CAT back exhaust, 19" Racing Hart C4's (245/35/19's all the way around), dropping it an inch, carbon fiber hood (should look bitchen against the black) and new air intake box. Eventually I plan on super charging the car, and of course new brakes, both of which are too expensive for me to take on now. I was considering purchasing the ECU through Stillen, but now I'm wondering if it will be worth it. I will have the car dyno'd at Stillen before and after the mods. I'll be sure to keep you all posted. My husband does tell me, as I see in some other threads that the ECU does generally take some time to learn. The Stillen ECU is called the VQ-Pro and the catalog states the most dramatic gains are felt above mid throttle and extend to redline.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Bossho:

Are you SURE my '04 6MT is restricted to 154 MPH, rather than the 145 MPH I was led to believe was the electronic limit for all sedans? Not disputing, just asking, because this is the first I heard of there being two separate "governed" top speeds for AT vs. MT.

Hopefully, I'll take a photo soon with my car's "limit" shown on both the tach and speedo (saw this on someone's AT post a while back, but can't seem to locate that picture now) - will have to wait for the right time/circumstance, probably out on the Interstate 5 "test facility" near me, on a 3:00-4:00 AM run.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Your Husband is leading you down the right path and it sounds like Stillen is too...read the thread I am about to post on my latest GTech findings with the Technosquare ECU Reflash.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

LMAO...everyone has one of those test facilities.

I am like 90% sure, but you can probably do a search for Top Speed and find out 100%...if not on here via Google.

Re: TechnoSquare Comments

Sorry, I meant to say "my reply to this thread" regarding 1/4 mi times...

Anyway, here are my latest findings:

81F outside and very low humidity
1/4 of a tank of gas and almost 300 miles on this tank (so I am thinking that my gas mileage may have improved, but it's too early to tell)

in manumatic 4 mode I did 3 runs to 60 and they were 5.82, 5.80 and 6.04 on the GTech...then I did one 1/4 mile run and here was the insane shocker of the day for me:

14.34 @ 103.3 mph (In 3 vs. 4 like I had to b/f the TS ECU)

The time is dead on with what I ran at the track pre Crawford and TS ECU Reflash, but I still have the two Avaya Phone Systems, Golf Bag, etc in my trunk and my 245/45 17 Kuhmos on...

I am switching my tires/rims back to the 16" versions I ran at the track in April and if all goes well on Wed of this week I will be up at NE Dragway in NH if anyone wants to come. I am still lol over this 1/4 mi result.
