G35VS 300M And the winner is...
I admit it i did race my car when i first drove off the parking lot... i know i shouldnt have but i was just too excited... well i was on sepulveda BLVD driving out of my dads market when a chrysler 300M pulled up next to me... light turned green, and both of us went WOT. We reached about 100mph thats when the chrysler almost hit a car turning into his lane but the overall winner was me by half a car length
big block 340 hp vs an import... not too damn bad.

Hmm nice race!! I was on the highway here with my friend in his mom's navigator and we saw this guy rite next to us in one. He looked over we werent going that fast then floored it, it took off pretty fast and I was like dam thats pretty quick, but I dont even realize how fast my G or my friends S55 Amg pulls off because we are always in our own cars never seeing it from another point of view lol, hard to explain. But anyway he took up to 90 or so then slowed down and shook his head, I was just thinking to myself ahhh, only if you knew what we drive you ***** haha. My friends S55 amg will eat that, my car, an M3 and mostly everything on the road and highway sorry to say since I love M3's!! They are the post powerfull beasts ive ever been in!! Anyway nice run, be carefull. Martin

The 340hp Hemi powered 300C would be a difficult car to beat with a G35....unless he gave you a head start. Thats why I tend to think you were going at it with the V6 model. Just my 2 cents.

"Only" having its 250HP doesn't really seem to slow that car down- I've gotten the chance to drive a few and lay on them, and they get up quickly...The Hemi model even more so, and not a bad ride

Here's what I know...
1. He definitely didn't race the old Chrysler 300M, b/c he would have won by about at least 4 car lengths...I know this b/c I went head-to-head with one when I first got my car as well, and totally wasted one by that much. The kid who was driving the 300M just shook his head, gave me a quick smile, and a thumbs up when I saw him in my rear-view mirror! ;-) The old 300M does have 253 HP, but does 0-60 in about 7.5 sec.
2. He (---definitely---edited...) probably didn't race the 300 3.5 L V6 (250HP), b/c again, he would have won by at least 4 car lengths. I know this b/c it has the same engine as the old 300M (although HP is rated at 250HP), and it's heavier. --edited-- Unless...Chrysler somehow made the car faster with the same engine (even though it's heavier)????
3. He definitely didn't race the 300 (2.7L V6 -- 200HP) b/c I've driven one as a rental car (National Rental)...what a piece of sh-t! I'd step on the gas, and it hardly moved; reminded me of my old Olds Delta 88 V6 (many, many cars ago ;-) The 300/300C is heavier than the 300M and drives like an Abrams M1-A1 tank, and btw - the interior is crap. I am 100% certain he didn't race this big, and very slow boat!
4. So by elimination, I would have to say with 99.9% ---edited-- 90% certainty, he raced the new 300C with the 5.7 L V8 Hemi (340HP)...everyone says it's fast, and all I can say is that piece of junk absolutely needs the 340HP 5.7 L Hemi V8 in order for it to move like a sports sedan, and btw - as I understand it, the 300C has no handing skills either...it's good in a straight line, but throw in a slight turn and it handles like an old Lincoln Town Car ;-)
One last thought...it's good to know that our G35 can handle that big boat! ;-)

Re: G35VS 300M And the winner is...
Unless, it really was a 300 3.5L V6 (250HP)...modded???? Otherwise, I really couldn't see that thing coming close to you, except from behind. I would be shocked if they somehow made that car faster than the 300M with the same engine; it's really a tank.
Or, you may be right...if it was the 300C with the 5.7 Hemi V8 (340HP), then the guy really didn't know how to drive or he was just afraid to step all the way on the gas. ;-) At least you know you could take him on a hard curve...;-)
And, finally -- if it makes you feel any better, at least your G35 is a good looking sports sedan; that 300C thing is just big, butt ugly. ;-)

Re: G35VS 300M And the winner is...
I used to have an Intrepid and still read their board from time to time. Check out this thread the best the guy with a 300C could do was 14.8... even an auto G35 would could beat or be close to that... so much lower than the mag times I'd bring it back if I were him
