Cell Phone Power

Hi All,

I tried searching for this and could not find anything related. In my Audi, I could charge my cell phone even when the car was off. Same goes for a couple of other vehicles I've owned. Seems that when you turn off the G, the power to the cigarette lighter on both sides go off. Is there any way to change this (i.e., 12V Power always on even when ignition is off?)

Thanks for the input,

Garry

Did you try the plug in the armrest between the seats? I use that one but can't verify if it is always on.

Re: Cell Phone Power

All 3 cig. lighter/power points turn off when the engine turns off (which imo, is a good thing...I had a 2000 Ford Taurus which I had to turn my radar detector off or unplug it every time I turned off the car -- what a pain!). I'm not sure how you change it. My wife just charges her phone while driving around in our FX35 or plugs it in the the house & charges it overnight; I think it's better than allowing those power points to stay hot with the engine off.
