Lake Norman Infiniti Problems, opinions wanted...

Soooo, my 2005 G35 Sedan (32K miles) is spending it's 8th business day (so far this time) at Lake Norman Infiniti. (excluding drop off day and saturdays)

Why?

The SES light has come on for the third time for the same code in a matter of a couple of months.
First time: In for several days - FIX: replaced the intake timing solenoid, turn off light
Second time: In for several days - FIX: replaced the oil, turn off light
Third time: was told they would replace the cam sprocket and y gasket.

IF the dealership did not provide loaners and IF I didn't live but a few miles from the dealership, I would not be so nice about it.

Soooo, what would you do?? I have opinions, but wanted to hear from you guys/gals!!!

You can try Infiniti of Charlotte. Ive had no problems from them or the closest Nissan dealership. They should not have to have your car this long!

Lake Norman Infiniti is just around the corner.....perhaps I should have AAA tow the car from their parking lot to Infiniti of Charlotte!!

And, yes, this is warranty work. Have a 2008 G sedan that the wife is driving.
If it had not been under warranty, I would have taken it to Modern Nissan of Lake Norman. They have been great to deal with in the past.

The 8 business days was for just this third trip. It's been there since the 7th of May!

Modern should be able to take care of the warranty work for you. Just call them up. I would go get my car back and take it to them.

Nope, a Nissan dealership cannot do warranty work on an Infiniti.

This is true. I asked back when I bought my sedan thru Modern Infiniti. I actually did all of the paper work at Modern Nissan and they delivered the G sedan at the Nissan dealer.

I have personally never had an issue with Lake Norman. Bought the car there and it is the only dealer I have gone to for warranty issues. Did they ever tell you the code that came up or did you have a chance to scan it before it went in?

P0011 was the code.

I've heard that the new management out of AZ is supposed to be much better than what came out of FL. I've attempted to purchase vehicles from them in the past, but ended up else where. However, they are by far the closest dealership to me.

I can't help but think this problem is related to the timing chain tensioner that went bad and had to be replaced several months ago.

It's certainly in that neighborhood.

Went by the dealership to talk to the tech.
The shop foreman is working on my car.
Evidently, they've been very backed up.
He just did crack open the front of the engine today.
The Y gasket/plate looked fine.
He had dropped the pan and found nothing.
Engine looked very clean! (thanks M1 syn)
Waiting on Infiniti Tech line to call back.
He is supposed to replace the sprockets and wanted to get the ok to replace something else.....can't remember and don't have time to look up in FSM..
He was also the tech that replaced my timing chain tensioner.
He did a good job of explaining and was very professional.
So, feel better after talking to the tech.
Still would like a G37XS....
Also, stopped by and looked at a GXP w/415HP 6MT
Might have to test drive it tomorrow

I had the same problem with my '05. Took it to Infiniti of Charlotte and they fixed the problem. It's been 4 months now.
Gee, there must be a lot of Charlotte people in this forum...

Got my car back yesterday!!!! They had it since May 7th!

Tried to trade it in on a new G37.
Got ready to sign the paper work tonight when they tell me that they thought my trade was a 06!!!! So, they tell me they want to give me $1K less!!! They've had my car in their shop for 1 month! They don't know what year it is???

Anybody else experience sales scams like this??
Or is it only Lake Norman Infiniti that does this type of sales?

I've bought cars from Modern Infiniti and Modern Nissan and NEVER had such a HORRIBLE experience trying to buy a car that I've experience in the last week.
