G Coupe Suspension Swap Impressions
#16
It makes sense to least swap out springs since it only takes 30 mins.
My drop will be an inch in the back (X down to Coupe) and either an inch or inch and a half in the front (X to Coupe or X to Z). And I've decided not to do any kind of bi-annual lift and drop. Too much hassle. I'll wait for the mythical front coilovers for our X's to adjust height for winter. And I'm not going to drop at all until I at least get a camber kit.
BTW Turtle, I'm very envious of your wheel and tire setup. It's really the ideal 18" setup for the AWD. I didn't know the Z Tracks were 8.5" in the rear or I would have saved up for those instead of buying the Coupe 18's I have now. I'm either going to do 235/45-18's all around or 225/45 Front, 255/40 Rear. But your setup is better since it's all stock diameter. What tires are you running? I saw they were Michelins, but Michelin doesn't make a tire that comes in both 235/45 and 265/40.

Whenever these coilovers come out, if they are sub $1000 i'll most likely grab them because i am not completely happy with the fronts.
i really love my wheel setup. sadly i had 3 people in the rear on it rubbed so bad today. i'm going with coupes springs in the rear in hopes of the rubbing to be gone otherwise i might need to run something else.
orginally i bought this off a Z owner who ran michelin pilot sports 235/40 265/40, i kept the rears and ran a 225/45 goodyear f1 and that pissed off the car with the AWD light on, i found a cheap set of 235/45 in eagle RS-A or eagle LS tires so i'm running those. Only reason why i did that was because my 265's had about 50% thread and should be good till end of summer or next summer. So then i can get new tires. I love the wheels sitting flush. I'll take some much needed pictures and post them in the X suspension thread.
orginally i thought the drop was 1.5 inches on the X ~> Z springs. but honestly it was more of 1.0 over all. maybe 1.25 at the MOST but not 1.5 at all. I measured at 3 places so i'm not wrong on this, wheel gap, fender to ground and fender to center cap. all showed just near an inch. but this inch drop is VERY noticable, i did a 1.25 inch drop on my 4th gen maxima and you cant even tell. this one you look and can tell its lowered, not SLAMMED but lowered.

Turtle, what size tires are you going to run when you replace the 265's? You could easily do the 225/45F, 255/40R setup. Otherwise it's 235/45's all around, and the tire selection in that size is pretty limited (I've got a list if you want it).
