hey
It's very rare that someone sells just the rear bracket so unless you get lucky, I'd just buy the whole set from someone. front/rear calipers, rotors and pads. Use the oem rubber lines if you are on a budget.
Technically yes, although the 05/06 uses a less aggressive pad in the front to cut down dusting. From what i've read in testing, the braking difference 60-0 doesn't change between 03/04 and 05/06 because of the aggressive pads used on the 03/04. The difference is the 05/06 does not dust.
A larger front rotor and larger caliper does increase the bias towards the front, and you may notice more nose dive, but the ABS system should be able to compensate and keep things "safe"
If anything though you are leaving a lot on the table by not installing the rears as well. Even though most of the braking is in the front, rears do make a difference.
Also, larger rotors = more mass = less resistance to fade. So if anything, you should notice your brakes become less spongy when you push them hard and heat them up.
I wonder if it's sold separately??
I'm surprised nobody has tried to piece together an 05/06 OEM brake upgrade kit with everything you need and sell it as a package deal. I'm sure a lot of guys would go with the larger brakes to get rid of dust and fill up their bigger wheels better.
Well in my case, my rear pads were down to nothing and I found a full set with almost brand new pads. So no sense in my piecing a kit when I got the full upgrade for about the same as new pads and new rotors.
I haven't researched just the rear bracket.
Racing Brake replacement rotors are on my eventual list though. The weight of theirs approach the weight of the early 11.5" oem rotors. No one has 2 pc for the 12.6" rotors that I know of.
