i got my wheel bearing replaced so that humming noise was gone. now i hear on the right front side where i got my bearing replaced. at low speed at like 10 or so if i have my window down on that side i can hear a faint whistle/squeaking sound only when the tire moves. like as the tire rotates it makes that noise on and off and if i hit the breaks lightly and hold it lightly it gets faster, but then goes away if i fully press in breaks. the mechanic pointed out that my right front break pad, the clip is broken off so might get some noise. i told him i had no noise, but now i think it might be from that. why would that be causing it? i had that clip broken off i think since i had the brakes and pads installed when i replaced them awhile ago. should i get the pad replaced and noise will go away? theres alot of meat on them, but i have to go back to monroe. i would just pay for labor because lifetime warranty on pads.

it sounds it could just be the clip on the pad, but since you said you just had the wheel bearing replaced i think id take it apart and check it out to make sure...

take apart what? i never replaced the wheel bearing myself mechanic did it, but he mentioned about the clip missing on one of the pads. i dont see how that could make the noise, but it sounds like that could be the problem. i mean its broken off and the front left one is on.Originally Posted by snotf
