After having the ACT Clutch, ACT Flywheel, Quaife LSD, and 4.08 Final Drive, for 6+ months collecting dust, I had a chance to install them. My friend and I did the work in his garage, and my car was down for 2 weeks. The clutch and flywheel went in on the first day with no problems. The LSD and gears were a nightmare. I bought the Quaife for the V-LSD equipped cars because I was told it was a drop in mod. BS!!! The Quaife is physically larger then the stock dif., and needs to have the appropriate shims to compensate for that. You need to cut 1.7" off of one of the stub shafts. Nissan uses different crush sleeves compared to Toyota, Ford, Chevy, etc. They don't "Pop" once crushed, and over tightened the first crush sleeve we used. Once we got everything figured out, and received all the necessary parts, everything went back together smoothly.
This was being installed on my 2005 6MT Sedan w/ Vortech and other bolt-ons.
In my opinion I think these are MUST HAVES for anyone with a Vortech supercharger. The car revs a lot faster, and is easier to get into the power band. Before the mods, the power was all top end, and you had to wind out the motor to really feel the boost. Now, it's like you have boost from 2k RPM's instead of 3.5k+ before. The car now has the off the line "oomph" it was missing. After only having the car back for 2 days now, I wondering if I even need to up the boost in the future.... (yeah right, who am I kidding?)
Mini review: Clutch + Flywheel + LSD + 4.08 FD on a boosted sedan =
and
Mods: I was hoping to keep this in the Sedan area, but you can move it if you feel necessary.

Hey love the car. I like how you kept it orignal. How do you like the SC? Im in a debate SC or Turbo. I hear good and bad about both. I like turbo but I keep hearing SC is better for your car long term. I plan On adding to car for a long term. Its just a great car.
Wow, this car does exist. I remember coming across some of your threads when searching for the 4.083 gears. My game plan has been to run a low boost supercharger in combination w/ the 4.083 gears. Please elaborate on the driveability of this combo. 1st and 2nd must be nasty..if its hooks this should be the ultimate daily driver imo...and on the quaife lsd..I had heard simmilar about the fitment which detered me.. also hows the low speed turning..any clunking?

I think that the 4.08 FD should me a mandatory upgrade the the Vortech. The car now launches like it never has before. If I jump on the gas exiting a corner, the SLIP light tends to kick in, but I have to be really on it. The worst thing so far.... I only have 85 miles on this set up, and I'm already at 1/2 a tank. Of course it doesn't help that I've taken everyone under the sun out for a demo.

Keep in mind you're not experiencing boost sooner. The Vortech is a centrifugal SC which builds boost in relation to engine rpm. This makes for progressive boost, but rather weak power in the lower rpms. It's actually a great setup for road racing because the power is so linear and doesn't hit like a turbo.
You've increase torque multiplication fairly significant so the motor gets into the heart powerband quicker therefore it feels like boost is occuring sooner, but in actuality you're just feeling the torque multiplication increase. I would have passed on the lightweight flywheel since it takes away moment of inertia and lauching ability, but for road racing, it's perfect for rev matching.
Overall, your setup is pretty dang ideal for your car's particular setup. I like it. Has Vortech improved the reliability of their systems? I know they've always had issues with the tensioners/pulleys.

Rare JDM Rear STB
I also had a chance to install my Rare JDM Rear STB tonight. I'll take the car for a spin tomorrow on the way to the M&S BBQ, and see how it feels.
