ORANGE RUSTY BRAKES?!? WHAT?

Today I was was unpleasently suprised when I walked out to my car. I had left it in the driveway instead of the garage on and off these past four days as I was doing some garage cleaning. It had rained a few times. But, I don't think any of that should have caused what now makes my car look like crap. All four brake disks are COVERED in these orange spots that sort of look like rust. On some of the disks the spots sort of show up on the calipers and other parts of the brake. I don't really know if it is rust, but you can compleatly see ORANGE disks through my wheels. I don't know what to do because it looks HORRIBLE. I haven't really noticed the car squeaking when braking at all but I also have been driving my work car almost all week. Has this happened to anyone else? Will the dealer clean it up..cause if you touch the disks it won't come off, and it won't come off with my high-pressure hose. I'll attach a picture later so you guys know what I'm talkin about. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

It has happened to me also. if you drive your brakes will take the rust off of the discs. It sounds so simple. Do not do anything drastic to remove color just drive your G.

Happy to own my G35X

This is completely normal. Every time you apply the brakes, you "machine" the surface of the rotors. This is now freshly machined, unprotected metal which will start to oxide quickly, especially with the rain you mentioned. Same thing would happen if you washed your car and left it for a while. Once you drive the car and apply the brakes, the rotors will clea themselves up. If you looked, the back side to the rotor would look the same.

Yeah it's the metallic-based brake pad dust that's getting rusty, not the brakes. It just happens to coat everything and splash around everywhere. Not a big deal.
